![]() ![]() While LEDs are marginally brighter, the difference in visibility between LED and HID is negligible as both provide excellent illumination. A lot of guys in the 02-06 forums are about ready to file a class action suit about the speedometers and odometers being off and thus affecting warranties. LEDs and HID headlights are significantly brighter than traditional halogen bulbs. So take a great big breath and breath out slowly and come to the realization that Nissan fibbed once more!!! It's getting way beyond the funny stage. My car has all the relays and fuses for ABS, but no wheel sensors or control mechanism. Caption: Narva has Surefit L.E.D globes as direct halogen replacement for standard and projector. So Nissan's either got a different idea of what projectors are or they're just flat full-o-s-! The window sticker on my 06 3.5SE 5 speed manual also said my car came with standard ABS. Thanks to L.E.D technology, drivers can now gain significant light output increases by retrofitting their vehicle headlights with L.E.D performance globes, which also offer significantly longer life and whiter light than their halogen counterparts. It says in the section for Premium package that HID Projectors were in that package. I am in the process of cleaning out my desk, and I came across the 07 Altima brochure they mailed me back just before the 07s were in the dealerships. May not be due to an outright lie, but at the very least a misprint. And I've also caught Nissan making untrue claims about options before in their stats, too. However I am correct about the 3rd gen Altimas. to order them so they can do a retro-install. The use of LED headlights can now be found in premium variants of some cars like the Honda City and Honda Civic. If that's true about the availability of projectors, they better stock up, because a lot of the 07 owners are gonna be beating down the doors of the parts dept. Halogen headlights were first introduced in 1962.LED headlights followed 46 years later in 2008 (Lexus).Like all new technologies, LEDs first became available in premium cars only. Edit: Well I just read your link, and you may be right, but what Nissan calls projectors on the Altima may be BSing on their part. Infinitis and Maximas and Zs and Gs, yes, Altimas, no. I'll check that last one out, but the last word I heard was no Projectors for Altimas as yet. Unless Nissan has changed their policy, no Altima has projectors for Halogens or Xenons. They all came with reflectors, and the differences in the housings were the way the reflectors were aimed to prevent glare also to prevent the housings from melting from the extra heat generated by the xenons. Not so, otherwise every 3rd gen Altima that came with or was ordered with HID Xenons would be illegal.
